My dad started training me in Tae Kwon Do when I was about ten years old. He's a fifth degree black belt, and we trained in our basement. Eventually, my cousins Rich and Molly joined us, and we all went on to win a few sparring tournaments. When I was sixteen, I earned my black belt; to this day, I'm proud of that accomplishment, and encourage every diabetic to pursue their interest in sports or anything involving intense physical activity. Sure, we have to take precautions , but we can still be champions just like anyone else.
